Which of these situations sounds like you?

icon

Confusing interface

Most user feedback is about an inconvenient, hard to navigate interface rather than functional bugs
icon

Conversion

Low conversion to the paid version of the product. The cause could be onboarding or UX, but it's unclear at which exact stage
icon

Design relevance

New clients note that the product looks outdated, comparing it to competitors with a more modern looking interface
icon

Visual readiness

You're preparing for talks with enterprise clients or investors, but the product looks unfinished, which may reduce the chances of closing the deal
icon

Losing consistency

Without a design system, every new feature makes the product look and feel worse to users

Growth after MVP

The product has passed the MVP stage and has its first customers; now it needs stronger design quality without major changes

Redesign aims to improve your product based on data

Redesign differs from designing from scratch because the product already has an audience, and every change affects their experience. That's why we start with an audit: analyzing user behavior, identifying where difficulties arise, and only then forming a plan for changes.

As your technical partner with design expertise, we keep patterns users are already familiar with where it makes sense, and change what directly affects conversion, retention, and how quickly users can complete key actions.

What's included in Product Redesign?

Step 1

UX audit

We analyze the current product: identifying where users run into difficulties, where they abandon an action, or where they make mistakes. We use analytics data (Hotjar, Mixpanel, or existing baseline metrics), or run our own research sessions. We review the product against Nielsen's heuristics and analyze how industry leaders handle similar tasks.

Step 2

Redesign strategy and scope

Based on the audit results, we determine what to fix, what to leave as is, and what to remove. We assess whether a full redesign is needed or whether targeted fixes to critical scenarios, such as onboarding, checkout, or the dashboard, are enough. We define the order of changes and lock in the scope and cost.

Step 3

UI Redesign in Figma

We create new screens based on the audit results and the chosen strategy, keeping familiar patterns and mental models where it makes sense so the redesign stays intuitive for existing users.

The design system is updated or adapted from the existing one. We build responsive versions for different devices, adding a dark theme if needed, and document the states of interface elements.

Step 4

Usability testing

We run 5–8 test sessions with real representatives of the product's audience, comparing the old and new design on critical scenarios. We make revisions before handing off to development.

Step 5

Dev handoff or implementation

If you have your own development team: we hand off the documentation in Figma (technical specs, Design Tokens, annotations), and the designer remains available during development for QA and to answer the team's questions.

If FreshTech handles implementation: we lock in the development scope and cost once the design is approved. Rollout happens in stages, starting with critical scenarios, with design and development handled by one team.

What results will you get from Product Redesign?

UX
audit report

A report listing the issues identified, with reasoning and recommendations, including screenshots of specific screens. Ready to hand off to your team or investors.

Figma
file

A full set of updated screens for all platforms and scenarios, along with an updated or new design system. States, animations, and transitions are documented. Editing access stays with you.

Updated or
new design system

A single component library that scales as new features are added and keeps the product visually consistent with every update.

Usability
testing results

A report on the test sessions: what was tested, what was found, and what changes were made. A comparison of the old and new designs on critical scenarios to assess how effective the changes were.

Dev
Handoff

A Figma file with annotations and Design Tokens, ready to hand off to a developer. If you choose the Redesign + Dev format, design and implementation are both handled by FreshTech.

Audit
Work often starts without a prior audit
We start with an audit of the current product and existing data
An audit takes time that's often unavailable due to current tasks
Product audience
Changes are made without accounting for user behavior
We account for audience needs while keeping familiar patterns
Dedicated research methods are often missing
Usability testing
Not always included in the scope of work
Testing with real users before development
New design is evaluated internally, often without usability testing
Technical alignment
The product's tech stack isn't always taken into account
The team factors in the product's tech stack when designing
The team accounts for technical constraints
Team and implementation
Requires a separate contractor and additional budget
Design and development are handled by one team
Work is often done without a separate design stage

What does this look like in practice?

case №1

SaaS product

Key Flow Redesign 4 weeks

Request: a B2B SaaS product with low conversion from sign up to active user. The problem likely lay in onboarding, but it was unclear at which exact stage and why.

Result: the UX audit found that users weren't completing onboarding because the value wasn't clear to them. Onboarding was redesigned around progressive disclosure, the dashboard was simplified, and the sequence of actions was restructured. Conversion rose from 11% to 29% in the first month.

case №2

Fintech Dashboard

Full Product Redesign 8 weeks

Request: a technically strong product preparing to enter the enterprise segment. After demos, clients lost interest because of the outdated look and the lack of a unified design system.

Result: a new design system, navigation structure, and interface, responsive across devices, and usability testing with representatives of the target audience. The first enterprise contract was signed 3 weeks after the new design was released.

case №3

HR Platform

UX Audit Only → Full Redesign 7 weeks

Request: a UX audit to understand the scope and priorities. The team had assumptions about the product's problems but couldn't determine whether a full redesign or targeted fixes were needed.

Result: a Full Product Redesign based on the audit findings: the job posting process was shortened, the design system was updated, and the UI of the product's modules was reworked. Time to create a job posting dropped from 23 to 6 minutes, and the completion rate rose from 60% to 91%.
