Viessmann Service Portal is a mobile app that contains the functionality of the personal web offices of Viessmann installers and service organizations, works offline and provides additional features

Missions we accomplished

The main purpose of creating the app was to provide contractors with the ability to register their work in the system on the go. They can fill in the details of the work on site, even without the Internet

  • Create a cross-platform app with the functionality of the Viessmann contractor web site 
  • Add the ability to register work offline 
  • Add the functionality of identifying the serial number of equipment by reading its barcode 
  • Automatically fill in the customer's address by detecting the geolocation of the device 
  • Extend the process of registering Starts by one more step by adding a technical questionnaire for the equipment 
  • Based on the technical questionnaire of the equipment, generate an electronic startup certificate in pdf format

The functionality of the web office has been fully transferred to the mobile app, including the ability to change profiles, view the history of work performed and use installer bonuses

Implemented solutions

Since the app duplicates the contractors' web office in its functionality, in this case we'd like to focus on the features of the mobile app

  • Offline registration of works : All works added offline are saved and validated as soon as the user has access to the Internet. Works that fail to pass validation can either be deleted and re-registered or edited
  • Reading equipment barcodes : Equipment serial numbers can be 7- or 16-digit. When manually entering long numbers, there is a high probability of errors, it is time-consuming and inconvenient. That's why we added barcode reading functionality to automatically fill in the serial number. This reduces the risk of human error and speeds up the registration of work in the app
  • Automatic geolocation detection : To simplify the process of filling out the work registration form for contractors, we added the ability to automatically fill in the client's address based on the device's geolocation if the app is authorized to use geolocation services. The city and address are pre-filled, but this data can be changed or corrected manually
  • Adding a technical questionnaire for the equipment : In order to generate electronic startup certificates, the process of registering equipment starts was improved. Two more steps have been added to the registration form for this type of work - selecting the type of equipment and filling out a technical questionnaire, where the questions differ depending on the type of equipment. All questions are flexibly configurable and can be changed, added or deleted by system administrators through the control panel
  • Generation of an electronic equipment startup certificate : For all registered works with the Equipment Start type, we have added the functionality of automatic generation of a pdf document, an electronic equipment startup certificate. This document is generated by a specific template and contains all the questions and answers from the technical questionnaire of this equipment
