fdForge 2.6.0 and 2.7.0 Releases Overview

fdForge 2.6.0 and 2.7.0 Releases Overview

System optimization, improving its stability, and a set of interface changes that users will immediately notice are among multiple updates implemented within the 2.6.0 and 2.7.0 releases of the fdForge system.

The 2.6.0 release is of special significance for us, as we started working on it three years ago. We have undergone a comprehensive transformation, touching every aspect of the system, from the login form to error handling. While revamping the system's visual design, we prioritized user experience and usability in every detail.

The fdForge management system has introduced a completely new look for tables and record cards, enhancing the most frequently used sections of the system.

Additionally, the customization capabilities for tables have been enhanced, enabling you to tailor the displayed data to your screen. These personalized settings will be saved for each table, ensuring that your preferences are maintained for all your subsequent visits.

It's worth noting that the updated interface of fdForge will remain familiar to existing users, but the overall experience will be significantly improved.

While the interface updates are indeed significant, they are not the only notable improvements we have made. Moving forward, let's explore more features that have been implemented within the releases:

Enhanced flow for adding administrators

As new functionality has been introduced within fdForge, an increasing number of our clients are embracing the fdForge management panel as their go-to solution for handling daily tasks within the company's business processes.

That is why we have simplified the process of adding new administrators to the system. Previously, it involved filling out their personal information and generating a password. Now, all you need to do is define their access permissions and provide the email address, allowing them to set up profile details on their own.

Such an approach greatly simplifies adding users to the system while also enhancing its security, eliminating the need for any access data transmission process.

It is worth noting that if there is a designated person responsible for configuring the profiles of all employees within the company, the previous centralized setup process remains unaffected.

Updates in log management

As the platform evolves, it is crucial to monitor all events occurring within the system, considering both the actions of administrators and the functioning of the infrastructure, as well as user interactions. _ Thus, in the new fdForge release, we adopted AWS CloudWatch as a solution to store and effectively search through a large and diverse set of records.

Moreover, there is no need to switch to another tool for log management, as all the necessary information is accessible within the fdForge system. Depending on the user's access permissions, they can view actions related to system entities, administrator actions, or comprehensive technical logs of the platform.

The connection between products and contracts is now configurable

The fdForge system has long provided the functionality to create connections between contracts and products. This is an essential functionality for building marketplace systems. We have decided to extend and improve this feature, addressing both the interface and functionality.

Firstly, now the connection between products and contracts is configurable. What does this involve in practical terms? It means that all the details of the product's association with the contract can be saved in the system, such as special prices for the product in a specific order, order-related comments, and other relevant information.

The list of products added to the contract has also become much more visually appealing. Now all the information and terms for each product are displayed on the screen.

Altered workspaces logic and widgets management

As previously mentioned, the system interface went through substantial changes in release 2.6.0. Taking into account feedback from our active fdForge users, our clients, we have altered the workspace switching logic. Each workspace serves as a parent section to a specific set of functional sections within the system.

Workspaces are now switched asynchronously, greatly streamlining platform navigation.

Additionally, we have moved away from separate dashboards for each workspace. Our findings have indicated that a single dashboard is sufficient for monitoring all system parameters, and users can customize their set of widgets based on their role.

The important aspect is that administrators now can set up shared access permissions for widgets when creating them. With this approach, a platform administrator can set up all the necessary widgets, which can then be reused by other administrators.

Among other updates, releases 2.6.0 and 2.7.0 brought a range of performance enhancements, optimized data storage in the database, and resolved minor issues in the system's functionality.
